Hiasynth is the creative studio for performing with code.
Artists, creative coders, algoravers, students, and more use Hiasynth to create music, visuals, and interactive shows.
As a creative studio, Hiasynth is more similar to an IDE or editor than a code library. It's compatible with any Javascript or Typescript project, and comes with plugins to let you easily integrate common livecoding tools.
Hiasynth is created and built by a team of one: Rodney Folz, an algorave artist based in SF, CA. They've been livecoding for several years now: performing under the artist name haute.rod, and co-organizing the algorave collective AV Club SF. Hiasynth began its existence as a custom program for their algorave shows.
Hiasynth's logo and website are designed by Nat Cheng, a designer and storyboard artist also based in SF, CA.
Hiasynth strives to be principled software built by and for artists, with a sustainable business model that lets us improve over time without compromise.
we want to build creative software that you can depend on. we use simple, open file formats and embrace the interoperability of the web so your creations can be preserved for generations to come.
we aim to reach profitability by selling a good product that people are willing to pay for. until that happens, Hiasynth is self-funded by its creator.
we want to enable artists to more effectively use libraries, code, and approaches that already exist. we view Hiasynth as the tool that brings them all together.
Hiasynth is inspired by all those who seek to make computation intuitive by building an immediate connection between the artist and their code.
